VFW Post 981 meets in person at American Legion Post 208 in Arlington Heights on the FIRST Wednesday of each month starting 7:00 PM. We also stream our meeting via ZOOM. If you wish a ZOOM invitation, please email the post at vfwpost981@gmail.com. About the Veterans of Foreign Wars The
VFW traces its roots back to 1899 when veterans of the Spanish-American
War and the Philippine Insurrection founded local organizations to
secure rights and benefits for their service. These chapters
were
merged in 1914 to form the VFW which was incorporated in
1918.
There are currently 1 million men and women who belong to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Why You Should Join the Veterans of Foreign Wars After
serving
our country eligible veterans deserve access to VA Benefits and
payments for service-related disabilities. The VFW, through our
Service Officers, are the best source for applying and getting these
benefits. When you become part of the VFW, your voice is heard. Your have access to resources that will answer your questions and advise you about your rights. And you will be among those who know what you experienced. Without a large organization fighting to get and keep what you earned, you could wind up with nothing!
